Course Description:
**10th grade students are ONLY at TECC East** This course is recommended for students in Grade 10-11. Students shall be awarded one credit for successful completion of this course. In the Introduction to Cosmetology, students explore careers in the cosmetology industry. To prepare for success, students must have academic and technical knowledge and skills relative to the industry. Students may begin to earn hours toward the state licensing requirements. Students demonstrate professional standards/employability skills as required by business and industry. The student applies academic skills to the field of cosmetology. The student demonstrates knowledge of rules and regulations established by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR). The student identifies and describes the function of tools, equipment, and technologies used in cosmetology. The student develops professional skills needed to make appropriate career plans.
