Introduction to Cosmetology

Course Description:

This course is recommended for students in Grade 10/11. Students shall be awarded one credit for successful completion of this course. In the Introduction to Cosmetology, students explore careers in the cosmetology industry. To prepare for success, students must have academic and technical knowledge and skills relative to the industry. Students may begin to earn hours toward the state licensing requirements. Students demonstrate professional standards/employability skills as required by business and industry. The student applies academic skills to the field of cosmetology. The student demonstrates knowledge of rules and regulations established by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR). The student identifies and describes the function of tools, equipment, and technologies used in cosmetology. The student develops professional skills needed to make appropriate career plans.

Form of payment options, Cash, Check/Money Order or Credit Card Fees: $525 Total Course Fees broken into payments through Cosmetology I/LAB Social Security or State ID # may be used for student permit. If using a STATE ID # student will need a $25 money order paid to the order to TDLR Uniform: Black Scrubs Required on the first day. Lab supplies to be assessed Clock hours: an earned hour expectation of 125 hours to move forward to the next course: Principles of Cosmetology Design and Color Theory
