Course Description:
This college-level course is designed to prepare students for the U. S. Government Advanced Placement exam. Through an analysis of historic documents, this course provides in-depth study of the foundations of the U.S. political system, its institutions, and the structure and function of governments. AP Test Prep Social Studies (49581300) is available as a review prior to the AP exam in the spring. Enrollment in designated GT courses will be limited to students who formally qualified for Gifted and Talented Services in LISD. If a GT course does not meet minimum enrollment requirements, it may need to be combined with the Pre-AP/AP course offering. *Juniors should complete U.S. History prior to taking this course.
