Independent Study in English - Dual Credit (American Literature 1 - ENGL 2327) 18 week

Course Description:

A survey of American literature from the period of exploration and settlement through the Civil War. Students will study works of prose, poetry, drama, and fiction in relation to their historical and cultural contexts. Texts will be selected from among a diverse group of authors for what they reflect and reveal about the evolving American experience and character. Students/Parents/Guardians are responsible for any registration, tuition, fees and textbook costs. Students served under Free/Reduced lunch may qualify for tuition waivers. This course is equivalent to ENGL 2327 - American Literature 1 (3 credit hours).

Prerequisite: ENGL 1302 or ENGL 2311
