Course Description:

Japanese 2 continues to introduce students to Japanese language and culture. During this course, the students will continue to develop speaking, writing, reading, and listening skills in Japanese that expand on topics beyond the everyday life of the student into the real world. The initial skill focus is placed on speaking and listening while continuing to gain knowledge of the Japanese writing system. Students will use Japanese in the context of interpersonal, interpretive, and presentational modes as the basis for meeting the TEKS. Students will use culturally appropriate responses and practices. Students in this course are expected to reach a proficiency level of Intermediate Low. This course is conducted in Japanese a significant amount of time.

Prerequisite: Japanese 1 or Credentialing Interview
